Grammar Explanation
Pages: |
Each chapter starts with 2-3 pages explaining
the grammar in the chapter. The grammar is explained concisely and
presented visually in gray boxes. |
|
|
Dialog Practices with Pictures: |
The next eight pages or so in each chapter are the dialog practices
using pictures. Each dialog practice starts with the full text
of the dialog above accompanying pictures. The students use
these dialogs and pictures as a guide to help them make similar dialogs
with the remaining pictures (which have minimal text). |
*Notice the games and activities
at the end of each dialog practice that reinforce what was just
studied in a fun and interactive way. |
|
|
|
|
Reading
and Writing Pages: |
After
the dialog practices, there is a reading page with a short
story and a picture of the story. A great way to practice English
is to let the students tell the story by looking at the picture
and not read the story. The students don’t have
to be exact. Below the picture are questions about the story
and then writing exercises. |
|
|
|
“Real
Life” Pages: |
At
the end of each chapter (except for Chapter 1), there is what
I call the “Real Life” page
with more vocabulary, role plays, and discussion. It’s
a way to relax and talk with the students without worrying
about the grammar too much. |
